South African photographer Kristin-Lee Moolman captures ‘New Africa’ in a stunning new photo series for EDUN’s SS17 campaign.

The photographs represent the connection between African and Western cultures, as one of her collaborators said in an interview with Dazed, “Kristin’s work represents what Africa is now, there’s no filter to it, no Photoshop. She’s an African woman telling an African story”.

The 70s-inspired campaign features three girls named Amelia, Imade and Somalia, around their neighborhood.

“The core idea of this EDUN campaign worked around finding and celebrating EDUN muses – while subtly paying homage to iconic American actresses like Pam Grier, Teresa Graves, Jeanne Bell and Tamara Dobson,” explains Moolman.

In addition, Moolman created a short-film, showing the girls posing in front of a 70s sports car, in a hair saloon and on the street.
