Moni Haworth, or “monibelle” as her social media dictates, is a photographer with a raw and uncompromising aesthetic. Going under the alias of Johnnys Bird, her reputation as an image maker is founded upon an ability to capture people in natural, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes controversial and always provocative situations. Each series of photos follows the same vein, regarding its quirky and elusive style, however some adopt a more documentary approach, while others steer towards portraiture and story-telling. Regardless of which category Haworth’s images come under, each series is incredibly intimate and personal. Whether she is following the behind-the-scenes world of bands or a young girl’s downtime in her bedroom, the quality of Haworth’s photography never wavers.
