When Apple Music expanded to launch its own fashion channel, it was no surprise that the first designer chosen to curate his own playlists was Alexander Wang. Known for carefully selecting the music for his catwalks, including a personally curated show by Baauer last season and after-parties featuring performances from Courtney Love and Ludacris, Wang is a renowned music lover.

3 playlists have been curated by the designer: Chill, Hype, and Vibe, and you can expect slow R&B, to hard core Rap, to dance floor ready anthems. ‘Chill’ isn’t perhaps what you may have in mind however, featuring songs from Rihanna, Drake and Juicy J, whilst Hype consists of the likes of Diplo, M.I.A., and Lil Jon, and Vibe is all about the hip-hop, with A$AP Rocky, Rich Homie Quan, and Meek Mill amongst its list.  “Chill is my go-to playlist when I get home, when I need to decompress, or when I’m having a night in,” Wang told Vogue.com. “Hype—those songs are mostly derived from playlists that I’ve played in a party bus or en route to a festival or going out. They are songs that kick up the energy […] Vibe is more a playlist that’s in between, with songs that have high energy and also are great classics. It’s good for having people over, drinks; it’s kind of pregame music.” (Carefully thought through, as you see.) “In fashion, the biggest movements that I feel connected to have always been from music, whether it’s grunge, punk, glam rock, hip-hop”, he continued.

More fashion playlists are expected to follow from fellow not yet revealed designers or fashionista likes, but for now you can find all of Wang’s 3 playlists via Apple Music, exclusively to members.
