Stepping into a world often overlooked in Britain, Sian Jones had a tough yet clear goal when she started her design journey a couple of years ago. Born in Copenhagen, Sian moved to London when she was 19 to pursue her fashion dreams. It was this in conjunction with her love of travelling which lead her to a problem: the perfect swimsuit.
This is where her story began. This problem had only one solution, in Sian’s eyes, and she was it. She enrolled at Central Saint Martins, and over the past three years has been nurturing her own swimwear designs under her namesake label, Sian Swimwear. And after extensive research into materials and manufacturers, finally the brand launches last month with its debut Cruise 2015 capsule collection.
The aesthetic combines Danish minimalism with the elegance of the south of France. The purpose is functional. The cuts are architectural. The clientele is international. The ethos is high quality style. Triangle bikini sets in white or black feature a cut-out trim in black or red. And high-cut swimsuits are finished with lace-up side details and low scooping back. Each design is given the name of a woman Sian finds inspiring. Every element of the collection and brand is fueled by women – the cut, the fit, the purpose. Sian Swimwear slots perfectly into the life of any woman, from jet-setter to inside pool lounger.
