Alex Mullins, one of the recipients of BFC’s Newgen Men initiative, has an excellent eye for mixing bold shapes and colour with artistic and authentic print. Following on his exploration of the Wild West theme last season, for SS16 he continues to capture stories and environments through clothing. Evoking memories of summer in bleached cottons, white denims and abstract acids.

Mullins captured the feeling of ‘All Holidays Ever’ to create a wardrobe of abstracted familiarity. Layers of cool, light cottons on sun blushed skin, inducing memories of tourist markets and pure white sun. Crude, hand-painted prints were swirled around the body on relaxed, easy feeling silhouettes. The result was an energetic and dynamic finish for each worked garment.
