Stella McCartney’s new fashion short film, entitled The Uncanny Valley just blew our mind! Featuring surreal and eerie scenery, the 3-minute long clip showcases models Megan Nison and Bradley Soileau in Tonopah, Nevada, stopping off at the iconic Clown Motel, a location that was used as a nuclear testing site in the 1940s.

Directed by surrealist artist Philippa Price, the clip presents Stella’s contemporary SS17 resort and men’s collection, alongside spooky clown-like make-up, a graveyard, as well as short excerpts from old movies, randomly put together.

In a Q&A on Stella McCartney’s website, Price stated how the location and its creepy scenery inspired the entire project: “I did already have an idea of the makeup and hair looks I wanted beforehand,” she said. “That was mostly based off of looking online at photos of the Clown Motel. However, once I got there the whole story totally came together. The Clown Motel itself is incredibly weird and wonderful, however I didn’t know how inspiring the whole area around it would become.”

Definitely a successful start for Stella McCartney’s #StellaBy series! Watch the short film below.
