If this week is anything to go by, it could be predicted the ever-quickening growth of contemporary menswear in the new year. It is no secret on the lips of the fashion industry, the menswear market has developed and moved into a new identity. And with new designers/brands/magazines emerging every month/week/day, there is no sign of it halting yet. Yes, some may be thinking this is a given. But this last week has kick-started a further movement away from newness and freshness. But the heavyweights are also weighing in…
LC:M launched its AW115 schedule last week, with another day! Yes, a fourth day. When the news reached ears and eyes last month, whispers of excitement spread across the fashion sphere. And with perfect timing, Harvey Nichols has unveiled the first step on its quest to relaunch the contemporary menswear department.
This move forward comes in the form of a collaboration. Teaming up with British streetwear brand ADYN, the luxury retailer offers a little hint of what is to come. A wash of black and white – note the ocean imagery – the collection offers layered looks; possessing the brands signature casual and urban aesthetic with a more clean-cut finish for Harvey Nichols. Making it into our top picks, slides make a welcomed appearance, as well as a long-line graphic parka and a paneled sweater. The collaboration is with no doubt a perfect step for both parties. But what it the next move for Harvey Nichols’ contemporary menswear? Only time will tell.
The collection with be available from Monday 24.11.2014 in-store and online.
