Information is sparse and press releases are short right now. That’s because this music duo have decided to remain nameless for as long as possible, before they inevitably start grabbing the attention of the widespread media with their music.

What we do know is that they go by Hoodlem. And while they’re keeping things on the quiet in terms of identity, they’re speaking volumes with their music. Based in Melbourne, the group have tapped into the electronic wave – a field which is becoming ever more competitive by the day – but have carved out their own delectable sound.

Snippets of their upcoming self-titled EP – out on March 25th – have been trickling out into the public eye, first with the sultry, suitably mysterious number ‘Kintsugi‘ which dropped a few weeks ago. Now we have the comparatively upbeat ‘4 Real’ on our hands, the synth and vocals beautifully skewed as though the music is being pulled into some kind of vortex. The only thing to keep you grounded is a sharp beat, the perfect punctuation for an otherwise spacey dynamic. These are just a couple of the songs featuring on their EP, and while they’ve set the bar high, rest assured that the others live up to the standard.

Keep an eye out for these two. So far they’ve nailed atmospheric electronic music – and we suspect there’s plenty more to come.
