We like Mykki Blanco. ‘Loner’ is his third single release from album Mykki, and so far all three offerings have displayed the artist’s ability to dabble in more than just the one genre. ‘High School Never Ends’ offered up emotion, ‘The Plug Won’t’ provides the party, whilst ‘Loner’ is a dainty, synth led track that gives a good middle ground between the two. A song about ‘misunderstanding’, Mykki is revealing some real emotion about the feelings of isolation in his life, with the hopes the album as a whole lets it audience ‘get to know who I am on the inside’. Featuring the pretty vocals of singer/songwriter Jean Deaux, ‘Loner’ is far from what the downhearted title suggests however, with a contradictory upbeat, tinkling rhythm that demands to be put on loop.
